Luxury two bedroom self catering cottage on beautiful, secluded estate 11 miles from Invergarry
Lochan Torr is near the tiny settlement of Tomdoun, only 11 miles from Invergarry on the road to Kinloch Hourn, gateway to Knoydart. This location, close to the Great Glen, the A82 to Fort William, Fort Augustus and Inverness and the A87 to Skye, provides an ideal base for day trips around the Highlands, with many family attractions within easy travelling distance. The journey time by car to Nevis Range gondola and ski and mountain biking centre is approximately 45 minutes.
The sparsely populated region between Invergarry and Kincloch Hourn has some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery; woodlands with native Scots pine, Lochs Garry, Poulary and Quoich, wild moorland, hills and mountains, including the Munros Gairich, Gleouraich, Spidean Mialach and Sgurr Mhaoraich. At the western end is fjord-like sea Loch Hourn and Kinloch Hourn, gateway to the “wild bounds” of Knoydart, one of Britain’s last wilderness areas. The diverse and largely uninhabited landscape of the glen attracts a great variety of wildlife with osprey occasionally spotted on Loch Garry.
